Luka is a Lithuanian illustrator known for her vibrant and quirky naïve art, bringing whimsical characters to life through a fusion of everyday city life, modern illustration, street art, and nature. Since moving to Australia, she has exhibited her work in group exhibitions, showcasing pieces that range from intricate ink drawings to multicoloured canvas paintings.

Luka’s artistic world is populated with anthropomorphic creatures—figures that blend human urbanites with the untamed spirit of animals in nature. These characters emerge from her fascination with everyday human rituals, capturing moments of humour, curiosity, and adventure. Through her work, she explores the interplay between city dwellers and wildlife, a theme that took on new depth after encountering Australia’s unique fauna. This meeting of worlds sparked the creation of her label, Surfing Sloth, embodying her playful and imaginative artistic style.

Though she primarily works with watercolour, Luka enjoys experimenting across mediums, from traditional ink drawings to digital illustration. While she finds joy in solitary creative moments, often accompanied by an audiobook, she also values collaboration as an enriching part of her artistic journey.

Beyond illustration, Luka appreciates long walks, short bike rides, watching dogs at the beach, and a good cup of tea—small joys that often find their way into her art.
