About the Artist

Active on the exhibition scene since 2017, Agota brings together painting, colour improvisation and symbolic imagery to construct her own artistic language. She works with recurring motifs such as faces, natural elements and the human body, distorting and deconstructing them into abstracted forms. Influenced by Surrealism, Symbolism and Expressionism, her practice explores emotional reality rather than literal representation. Alongside her studio work, she also writes as a freelance art critic, adding another layer of insight to her relationship with contemporary art. Agota draws inspiration from the soul landscapes of Norwegian painter Edvard Munch, the figurative mastery of British artist David Hockney, and the innovative, deconstructed approach to human depiction by another British luminary, Francis Bacon. Her art, adorned with a bright, playful façade, conceals intricate, contradictory narratives that resonate with collectors across Lithuania, Germany, Switzerland, Norway, the Netherlands, and Chile.
