About the Artist:
For over twenty years, Mishfit has carved out a distinctive place in the urban art landscape, painting internationally from Melbourne’s laneways to major European festivals. Her work merges classical techniques with street art energy, resulting in vibrant, layered compositions that carry both grit and refinement. Drawing on old masters, Japanese ukiyo-e, surrealism, retro-futurism, and mythology, she has developed a visual language centred on luminous cloudscapes and obscured figures that serve as metaphors for human emotion. Themes of empowerment, transformation, escapism and resilience run through her practice, shaped by years spent challenging the male-dominated graffiti scene and reclaiming space through powerful female imagery.
About the Artwork:
A luminous fusion of classical technique and contemporary edge, this glitched skyscape weaves soothing peach tones with cooling blues to create a bold yet meditative presence. Bridging the timeless beauty of oil painting with an urban aesthetic, it invites both calm reflection and conversation. Drawing from the artist’s own sunset photography along the rugged West Australian coastline, the work channels a world subtly destabilised, hinting at themes of climate disruption and the rise of AI, while ultimately honouring the enduring power and resilience of nature. Lose yourself in its layered depths, where serenity and unrest quietly coexist.
