About the Artist
With a background in Geography and Planning Science, Olaosun brings a thoughtful, observant lens to her creative practice. Her work draws from lived experiences and emotional encounters, exploring themes such as gender expectations, psychological struggles, African history and the pressures placed on men to suppress their feelings. She believes Black skin symbolises existence itself, and uses it intentionally throughout her work to communicate identity, depth and presence. Each painting takes days of careful labour, blending vivid strokes with contemplative abstraction to reflect the turbulence of internal and external worlds.
