Maximilian Vermilye, also known as Max PhV, is a Swiss-based artist working within a conceptual digital practice he calls psychodynamic photography. About the Artist

With a background in liberal arts and a Bachelor’s Degree in Photography from Webster University, Vermilye combines technical understanding with an experimental approach to digital image making. He creates all his work on a smartphone, capturing scenes, manipulating forms, and reconstructing meaning through mobile editing. Techniques such as flipping, symmetry and repetition often produce fractal-like compositions and dreamlike geometries. This approach forms the foundation of psychodynamic photography, a method that encourages a personal connection between artist, image and viewer. His work has been shown internationally in Geneva, London, Seoul and New York, as well as online in Metaverse exhibitions.

About the Artwork

Soap-like bubbles float into an abstracted space, filling the visual composition with repetitive forms in which pink, magenta, and blue reflections of the real world catch viewers' interest. The reflected surfaces make the piece resemble an uncanny dream that refuses to float away.
